Maldron Hotel Derry

I have stayed in plenty of good hotels but the team at Maldron Derry are on a completely different level. The building is lovely and the location inside the walls is perfect for seeing the city, yet the real magic here is the people. From the first minute you walk through the door you feel genuinely welcome and that warmth never fades. Every single member of staff was friendly, natural and nothing was too much trouble. Every request was met with a smile and a bit of Derry humour. It felt less like checking into a hotel and more like being looked after by a brilliant family who actually care about their guests. The Maldron chain is lucky to have this team because they are unreal. They could teach many other hotels what true hospitality means. If you want a comfortable hotel in a great spot you will already be happy, but if you want to experience the kind of kindness and spirit that makes a trip memorable then this place is special. I will come back to Derry just to stay here again.

Was able to get room two hours before check-in time. Also got free parking below hotel, receptionist Caoimhe a lovely helpful friendly girl, big room, good shower, comfy bed, evening meal not a lot of choice but was very good, breakfast was good. One small complaint. They would need to top up food trays more often, Hotel is in a great central location, would definitely stay again.

Had a great stay. The room was impeccably clean, spacious, and well-equipped with all the essentials. The location is unbeatable. Right near pubs, tasty restaurants, and must-see attractions. The staff were exceptional, going out of their way to fulfill every request with genuine warmth, which made the experience special. My only complaint is the lack of a thermostat in the rooms, which left things a tad stuffy at times. Despite this, the team’s efforts to ensure our comfort were top-notch. Would definitely recommend and return!

I enjoyed a lovely stay in the Maldron hotel Derry recently and everyone one was very warm and welcoming. I especially want to thank Danni one of the waitresses for her lovely hospitality and her knowledge of the local area was very helpful. I so love staying in the Maldron in Derry. It is the perfect location in the city's walls. You can walk everywhere & the Lyric is great for a drink & snacks if so desired. (The Irish Coffes & G & Ts are wonderful!) Lots of shops, museums, tours, & good restaurants within 5 minutes of the hotel. Can't wait to return!

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Derry Maldron Hotel. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We had an issue with some usb ports in our room and Claire bent over backwards to resolve the problem quickly. Aisling in the restaurant and Noreen at reception were amazing and so kind and welcoming. We quite appreciated the full tub/shower in our room, as every other hotel we stayed at during our trip had small standup showers with 1/2 glass walls, so the bathroom floor would be soaked by the time we were done showering. One hotel’s bathroom door and trim boards were rotting due to water saturation from the shower. The room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. My one recommendation would be to refresh the caulking around the tub. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Derry.

Another excellent stay at the Maldron. I took my niece and nephew again, we have been a few times before. The staff are amazing so polite, helpful and very friendly. We had a fantastic meal, my salmon was perfect and the kids cleaned their plates as they enjoyed it too. Breakfast was a perfect fry up which was dry and again cooked to perfection. Spacious room and a great gym. Thank you so much we will be back we loved it so much. Located right in the centre with shops & bars on your doorstep.

I had my wedding reception here on 29th January 26, the service from the day we booked to the day we left after our stay was oustanding. We had the pleasure of dealing with Chiree who was amazing, when i wasnt sure what i should be doing she steered me in the right direction. I would highly reccommend staying here or any future bride and grooms to book their wedding here. The food on the day was absolutely amazing and everyone was catered for. Caoimhe on Reception was also brilliant at accomdating all the guests and she was very pleasant to deal with.
